Late August 2026
Integrated prototype now operational
The standalone HVAC controller is now running successfully as a complete system in the development LX470.
Following the initial in-vehicle MPX test, work continued on firmware behavior, physical integration, and the prototype wiring harness. The latest harness is now fully plug-and-play with the vehicle's factory connectors, requiring no cutting or modification of the original wiring.
Additional prototype hardware is also being prepared for the next round of testing while final fitment and vehicle validation continue.
This remains development-stage hardware, but the project has progressed from proving individual subsystems to validating the complete integrated controller in the vehicle.

First in-vehicle validation
The prototype successfully communicated with the factory HVAC system over MPX in the development LX470, with the vehicle responding to inputs from the new physical controller.
This established the core hardware and communication architecture in the actual vehicle and moved development into firmware refinement and integrated system testing.

Prototype hardware arrives
The first assembled PCB prototype batch arrived after a component sourcing delay and moved into bench bring-up and system-level testing.
Initial testing covered the controller electronics, displays, physical inputs, illumination, programming interfaces, and MPX hardware before progressing toward in-vehicle testing.

Prototype production begins
The HVAC control module prototype batch has been submitted for PCB manufacturing, enclosure printing, and fitment testing preparation. First-article prototype validation remains pending.
